Reading:
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine Novel by Gail Honeyman (half way)
War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy( 300 pages) - no progress
I recently came across a 1998 article about James Ellroy, the renowned crime fiction author. He is best known for his gripping novels, including LA Confidential, which was adapted into a critically acclaimed, star-studded film of the same name. The movie, currently rated 8.2 on IMDb, is one of the most visceral and brutal police dramas ever made—its raw intensity makes it feel hauntingly real.
The article revealed that Ellroy’s mother was murdered when he was just 10 years old, and the crime remains unsolved to this day. This tragic event profoundly influenced his life and writing, shaping the dark, unflinching style that defines his work.
I’ve never read his books. May be pick LA Confidential for next year’s reading list.
